Varicose Veins

Varicose Veins

Varicose veins are swollen, twisted veins that have filled up with blood that has become stagnant. This happens when the small valves in the veins that prevent blood from flowing backwards are weakened or damaged and cannot carry out their function correctly. Varicose veins may cause cosmetic and medical problems.

Specialists from our phlebology department carry out a thorough physical examination of the patient and perform and a ECHO-DOPPLER study. This allows us to obtain a detailed map of the veins, which is essential for accurately assessing the condition of the patients venous flow and deciding treatment.

Our treatments are tailor-made to fit each individual patient and may include:
• Endovenous laser surgery with a diode laser or radiofrequency
• Foam sclerotherapy and Nd-YAG laser

There is virtually no down time after the treatment, which means patients may return to their daily activities very quickly.
